Student Spotlight: Jayden Morris

Senior Jayden Morris is the captain of the CCHS Academic Team Varsity Quick Recall team. In addition to Quick Recall, Jayden also competes in Science and Social Studies written assessments. He recently led the Varsity Quick Recall team to the championship of the WSI Scholastic Hi-Q Tournament where the team defeated the reigning champions, the Carbondale terriers, unseating them from a long-standing winning streak.  

Morris says that the reason he enjoys academic team is because he has “built many friendships, whether it be on our team or teams from other schools.” he also enjoys competing, as he is a very competitive person. 

Academic Team Coach Mrs. Gray says that Jayden “brings an energy, excitement, and drive that every coach appreciates. He motivates his teammates through his passion and being a good role model.” 

Jayden says, “competing in my favorite subject areas has helped me go more in-depth and gain a deeper understanding of them.” As Leonardo da Vinci said, “Learning never exhausts the mind.”
