A Sendoff to A Wonderful Advisor

The Laker Review says a heart wrenching goodbye to our beloved friend and teacher, Mrs. Fazi. We wish her well in retirement, but we hate to see her go. Junior Ellie Whisman says, “I’m sad that we won’t be able to have her valuable help with the newspaper, but I'm excited for the new era that we are going to enter.” We are preparing ourselves for the new journey that we are embarking on. Senior Jesse Hutchens says, “It was great to finally put a face to the name after having her as a teacher online for a year.” Even when teaching in a non-traditional way, she was still, in some people’s opinion, the best teacher. Mrs. Fazi is leaving behind a legacy that will always be remembered through the past issues of The Laker Review.

Not only is Mrs. Fazi going to be missed by her students, but she is especially going to be missed by her colleagues. I have seen for myself the love and friendships that have surrounded her. The entire staff is not only saying goodbye to a colleague, but they are saying goodbye to an amazing friend and mentor. Agriculture teacher, Mr. Falwell says, “Ms. Fazi was my Honors English III teacher during her first year at Calloway. I appreciated her then, but that level of appreciation grew tremendously when I became her co-worker... Due to the alphabet, we got to sit with each other every year at graduation, and that is the moment that I will miss most.” Her coworkers have nothing but good things to say about her. English teacher, and new head of The Laker Review, Mrs. Barrett says, “Mrs. Fazi is the best of the best. I want to make sure I follow in those amazing footsteps.” Mrs. Fazi is leaving some big shoes to fill. From all of us here at Calloway County High School, we wish Mrs. Fazi good luck on her new journey.
