FFA Field Day

The Calloway County High School FFA Chapter competed at the 71st annual Murray State University FFA Field Day on Wednesday.  For the first time since 2016, and the record 18th time in school history, the Calloway County Chapter won the Overall FFA Field Day Championship.  A total of 59 students competed in both team and individual contests, and the results were impressive.  In fact with 80 teams representing 69 schools from Illinois, Kentucky, and Tennessee, Calloway County was able to place in the top 10 of every event at Field Day!  Highlights are below, and photos are attached.

 

A special thanks to the transportation department and our friends in FBLA for ensuring that students could compete at both state FBLA and this FFA event.  They made an early morning escape from Louisville in order to bring some of our participants back to CCHS so they could compete!  Thank you to Ms. Fritsche and Mr. Thomas.

 

OVERALL CHAMPION (20 straight years of being 1st or 2nd at FFA Field Day!)

 

Championship Teams:

  • Nursery and Landscaping (43 straight years as top team in Kentucky), team members:  Isaac Martin (1st place individual), Kaylee Tharp (3rd place Individual), Jaycee Crouch, and Elizabeth Morrow

  • Tobacco Judging, team members:  Ethan Carson (2nd place individual), Kolt Bazzell, Kierstyn Carraway, Aidan Clinton, Ellie Falwell, Cooper Housden, Wyatt Robbins, Tate Weatherly
