Hear me out! Track 3

Hear me out--- if you cannot run from them then you might as well join them. I am referring to family, of course. With the holidays around the corner, it can only mean one thing. Everyone’s family is rolling in for the annual visit. Hopefully, the roofs can contain such a dysfunctional mess. Haha...I mean, who does not appreciate spending time with people you love (or in some cases tolerate). With that being said... the most wonderful time of the year is finally here.

All this excitement of seeing loved ones has us overlooking the carry-on luggage that is brought with them. Traditions. In earlier years, you had the mindset of a mouse when it came to holidays. No, you are not dreaming of cheese, more likely, you are dreaming about gifts and candy. Years go by and the best gift imaginable is the memories, ones that family traditions make last forever.

Depending on the family, traditions vary because every one of them is different. For some people, that may be binge watching cheesy Hallmark movies with their grandma who has tissues stacked up as high as a mountain. To be honest, watching grandma in that scenario is better than those movies that are just copied and pasted in the same format, while others could be making Walmart gingerbread houses, which may I say... taste like cardboard. The quality time must be worth it for your tastebud's sake. Luckily, you will not have to just guard your taste buds at a family dinner. You will need to bring a battering ram to get that glorious slice of ham. Personally, I am a lover not a fighter so instead... my favorite tradition is going to see the Christmas lights. The glistening of colors makes my heart melt and will forever be a tradition I wish to continue.

It is understandable how doing the same thing every year can seem boring to some, yet these traditions uphold great meaning. Traditions build strong bonds that are being formed within every home. They bring the fundamentals of the holiday season such as joy and cheer while love continues to bind hearts forever more.
