Culture today seems to suggest that non- participation and "not caring" are a norm; however, most students are actively involved in their schools.

Calloway County High School offers a variety of extracurricular activities, with outstanding sponsors. Below, club sponsors offer some insight into the extracurricular world of CCHS:

FBLA: According to Mr. Thomas, co-sponsor of the organization, "Travel, competition, having fun, and community service (which is great for your resume), are just a few of the reasons why you should join FBLA."

ESPORTS: Mr. Fraser, two-year sponsor of the ESPORTS club, states, "ESPORTS is the fastest growing sport in the world and colleges are starting to offer more scholarships for ESPORTS than for baseball, softball, and volleyball. Also, while most sports’ practices must be attended regularly at a set time, ESPORTS practices can be done virtually at flexible times.”

FFA: Mr. Falwell, 21-year sponsor of the organization, describes FFA as “. . . the largest student-led organization. It promotes leadership development and provides lots of opportunities, such as competition, travel, and meeting people from all over the country."

Spanish Club: Mrs. Parrish’s believes, "Spanish Club gives student opportunities to explore another culture other than our own, has fun, and provides students with a greater global view."

These are just a few of the options presented to CCHS students. There are many more clubs and extracurricular activities not listed above. It is easy to find an organization to get involved in. So, get started today and have fun finding your niche.
