Old School Hero

Mr. Mark Dycus, one of the twelve retiring teachers or staff this year, is a choir and guitar teacher who is seventy years young. He has been teaching here at the high school for thirty years, and many teachers and students love him and call him the best teacher at Calloway. Dycus was inspired to start teaching choir as a way to share his love of music with students and teach some of his art to kids that are interested in music. During his classes, he helps students with music of various types, leading them in both guitar and singing exercises during choir to improve his students’ craft, proving his ability and patience for students to be top notch.
