New Calloway County Athletic Director
The Calloway County School District has hired a new Athletic Director for the 2022-23 school year. Mary Price is entering her 10th year as a Laker, and the newly acquired A.D. position adds to her duties as a math teacher. Mrs. Price has a lengthy background in sports, including her collegiate volleyball career at Murray State University. She also served as the Lady Laker head volleyball coach for five years.
When asked why she pursued this position, Price replied, “It has always been a long-term goal of mine to become an athletic director. I have a love for all sports and, of course, I enjoy teaching and being in education. To me the athletic director’s position really brings those worlds together. I get to be an active part of our students’ success on and off the field.” Price's primary role as A.D. is to ensure that our coaches and players are supported while having the necessary tools to perform to the best of their abilities. When Price was asked about some of her other roles, she said, “I want to encourage all students to be engaged in activities, whether that means they are out there playing or they are on the sidelines cheering!”
Mrs. Price has enjoyed her time as the A.D. and hopes to remain in the position as long as the administration will have her. She has done an outstanding job so far, and we are excited to see her continue to grow in her role.
