Be RED

Entering the 2022-2023 school year, CCHS students and staff saw a new incentive for behavior: Be RED. This acronym is a heavily preached idea, guiding students to be just what the acronym stands for: Respectful, Engaged, and Disciplined. A huge focus to do better in the class, hallway, bus, cafeteria, bathroom, and even online and social media has become common topics of discussion around the school. Students and school personnel were asked what the pros and cons are about Be RED. Here are their thoughts.

Savannah Scott, sophomore

"A con would be that they're more strict on dress code."

Nicolas Murrell, freshman

"It’s a pro because Be RED is a good way to get to know more people and follow rules."

Gary Rogers, sophomore

"A con would be they're stricter on phones, and we have to put our phones on the wall."

Teachers have taken the ideas that they like and have put them into place...I think it’s a positive change overall.
— Josh Harper, school-based therapist

Despite the "pros and cons" of the new, implemented Be RED acronym, it can collectively be decided this acronym will have a more positive effect on our school rather than an a negative one.
