Change – Timely and Effective
Behind the scenes, a schedule is a huge factor that determines our day to day lives. Since the basis of school is primarily a schedule, should we not prioritize it? This year is set in stone when referring to schedules unless there is a core credit class you need. If so, you are always welcome to discuss scheduling conflicts with the office. It might be the case that you land in a class you are not particularly fond of, which is why you should plan ahead for next year. Prioritize your schedule. Personally, if I have any issues with my schedule, then I know I always have the guidance counselors to help. Mrs. Rydecki and Mrs. Neale go out of the way to lighten the load of anything stressful we students are enduring.
Speaking of changes, this year brings the discussion of our new "A/B" schedule. The schedule change has received mixed reviews from students, since it makes life easier while also potentially making it confusing. Granted, having math every other day is one way I am grateful; however, tests are a conflicting issue. Now that classes are every other day, students have more to remember than last year (not to mention the load that it adds onto teachers transitioning from having 90 students to now around 130 plus).
Although there are some clear downsides, there are also upsides. The day goes by faster, and there is more time to work on homework. I do believe, as the year progresses, we will become more accustomed to this schedule change. With any change, there will be a pros and cons. However, based off personal experience and prior knowledge, I think this change is one for the better.
