Sunny Clark
Sunny Clark has spent many years as part of the Calloway County girls' basketball and soccer teams. Clark stands out, not just because of her talent, but also because of the hard work she puts into any endeavor. Going through soccer season then transitioning right to basketball can be tough, however, Clark makes it look easy. It takes someone with lots of perseverance to do this, and Sunny Clark is one such paragon. She always gives her best effort no matter the situation. With this senior on a team, teammates and coaches always receive Clark’s best effort.
Sunny, 2021-22 goalie for the soccer team, had many big moments during her time as a Lady Laker. When asked to recall her favorite moment from high school sports, Sunny responds, “My favorite moment was the Marshall County soccer game my sophomore year. We won 1-0 and broke their winning streak.” Sunny also made several big contributions to the basketball team, helping lead the Lady Lakers to the regional semifinals. The Lady Lakers will miss an esteemed and talented player next year with Sunny’s graduation.
Sunny will have a lasting impact on her teammates because of the effort she always puts in. Junior Carson McReynolds commented on Clark's graduation, stating, “The basketball team will miss Sunny’s effort next year. Even when things were not going well on the court, we could always count on Sunny to give it her all.”
The Laker Review staff wishes Sunny well in her future endeavors.
