The Calloway Football team has a rare problem: a lack of seniors. There are five seniors this season, and one of them is Sam Chapman.  Chapman has been the Lakers' best player this season. Chapman had an injury-riddled junior campaign but worked on staying healthy this offseason. Now with Drew Hudgin and Gabe Carson graduated, Chapman has seen a much bigger workload. Through three games, he has 16 catches for 303 yards and four touchdowns and has been freshman quarterback Wyatt Robbins' favorite target throughout these first three matchups. Sam's season tragically ended early due to a severe knee injury. Sam is also a member of the Calloway County Track Team.

Cohen McCartney is the newest senior on the roster. McCartney transferred to Calloway at the end of his sophomore year from Belton, Texas. McCartney, starting corner back and starting wide receiver, has 4 catches for 20 yards and a touchdown.  He also has 12 total tackles. McCartney arrived and instantly earned a starting spot on this Lakers defense. McCartney is also a team captain and a member of the Calloway County Track Team

Seldon Herndon is one of two linemen that are seniors.  Herndon is the Lakers leader on the offensive line and defensive line. He is the starting offensive guard and starting defensive end and has battled injuries his entire high school career, including a season-ending shoulder injury late last season. Herndon has bounced back this season, being the best run blocker on the team and posting 8 tackles. Herndon has battled injuries once again, but he is hoping to bounce back and better than ever for the Lakers. Herndon is also a member of the Calloway County Track team.

Patrick Powers is the other offensive lineman for the Lakers, and the senior might get the award for most improved player. He had spent his first years playing linebacker for the Lakers, and not really finding a real home. Now, he has converted to an offensive tackle and has found a place where he can excel. Powers has used his wrestling skill and has found a way to incorporate it at OT. Patrick is also a member of the Calloway County Wrestling and Track Teams.

John Durham is the final senior for the Lakers. He is the senior running back for the Lakers. Durham is also the Lakers weak side linebacker. His combination of size and speed makes him an effective linebacker and running back.  Dunham has battled a few setbacks this season, including a concussion, but has started to get his feet under him. Of all the returning players, Durham played the biggest role last season. Durham is also one of the Lakers' team captains and also a member of the Calloway County Track Team.
